② Abbreviation : Only standard abbreviations are used. Avoid use of abbreviations in thesis title and abstract. While using the abbreviation for the first time in the test, mark the abbreviation using parentheses, etc after writing the formal name first and can be only marked as abbreviation afterwards. While it is ideal to avoid using abbreviations that are generally used if possible, but the abbreviations of standard measuring unit is an exception.
③Marking proper nouns, numbers and measurements : name of people name of places and other proper nouns should use original language if possible while the arabian numbers are used for numbers and metric units are used for weights and measures. The temperature is recorded in Celsius and blood pressure is recorded in mmHg. The measurements of hematology and clinical chemistry should use metric units of SI (International System of Units, SI) method. The measured values and unit indications must be spaced.
④ Name of drug : Use general name rather than product name as a general rule. But the product name can be marked only in case it is important for evaluation of result or tracking research.
a. The oriental medicine prescription should be marked by Korean pronunciation first and only the first word is capitalized. Words that stand for ingredients such as soup, acid or pill should be indicated by lower case letters after using the hyphen(-).(Ex) Chungpesagan-tang
b. The name of oriental medicine must not be marked only with name of herbal medicine and the actually used part or measuring method must be marked with proper English.(Ex) licorice (broiled) : Broiled root of Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH

For the English names of specific terms in Sasang medicine, refer to the Sasang Medicine English Glossary. If a term is not listed in the glossary or cannot be translated, capitalize the first letter and use Romanized italics, followed by Korean or Chinese characters in parentheses. ② A number as Arabic numerals should be attached to the table according to the order quoted in the text.
③ The table should be prepared with single line not inserting vertical lines.
④ The explanation on category is inserted to footnote and not inserted to heading. Non-standard abbreviations used in tables are all explained in footnotes located on the left-lower end of table. (Ex. HR=Heart rate; T=Temperature).
⑤ In footnote, symbols are used for explanations and they are used in the following order : a, b, c, d. (Ex. aSurvival case; bDead case.)
⑥ In personal informations, gender and age are written as M/F and yr respectively, and the average and unit size of age, weight, height are written to the first decimal point.
⑦ The p-value should be written as an intact value not adding a footnote, and be written to the third decimal place(Ex. p=.003). In case of ‘p=.000’, the value has to be written as ‘p<.001’.
⑧ The significance levels should be listed at the bottom of the table in order from the lowest to the highest p-value, and no period should be used at the end. (For example: * <0.1 **<0.05 ***<0.01)
6) Writing principles of Figure
① The title of figure is located on the lower end of table, and only the first word is capitalized and the rest is marked with lower case letters. (Ex. Figure 1. Mean responses to questions by student grade categories.)
② A number as Arabic numerals should be attached to the table according to the order quoted in the text.
③ The size of pictures should be regulated between ‘102×152mm(4×6 inch)’ and ‘203×254mm(8×10 inch)’.
④ If two or more pictures exists in the same number, alphabets should be expressed after Arabic numerals(Ex. Figure 1-A, Figure 1-B).
⑤ Microphotographs of tissue specimen are recorded with a name of tissue, process of dyeing, and magnification.
⑥ Symbols in figures are used in the following order : ●, ■, ▲, ◆, ○, □, △, ◇

2)All bibliographies should be prepared in English as a general rule. For the English names of specific terms in Sasang medicine, refer to the Sasang Medicine English Glossary. If a term is not listed in the glossary or cannot be translated, capitalize the first letter and use Romanized italics, followed by Korean or Chinese characters in parentheses.
3)The bibliography should be organized by putting serial numbers according to the order quoted in the text, indicated by putting arabic numerals only in a form of superscript number at the end of quoted phrase, but should be recorded by corresponding with serial number of bibliography at the end.
4) When using a footnote, use a superscript number in order of their appearance inside half a parenthesis, corresponding to the relevant part of the article.
5)The number of bibliographies should be 40 or less in case of original article and 20 or less for case report as a general rule. (But excluding the review thesis.)
