AB - Anion assisted [4+2] cycloaddition reaction via indolo[2,3]-dienolate by reacting 1,2-dimethylindole-3-carboxaldehyde with aromatic nitriles using lithium diisopropylamide in terahydrofuran, a facile and convenient regiospecifc route designed and developed for the synthesis of γ-carbolines.
