ABSTRACT

The location of Seoul National Cemetery was determined urgently after the Korean War. But, it was used as Dongjakneung from the past and it was the best location at that time because the size of national cemetery was considered. It is also important that location was chosen among candidate by considering Feng-Shui. As for Feng-Shui location analysis, overall Feng-Shui of Seoul National Cemetery is known to the public as Gong-jak-jang-ik Type and Jang-gun-dae-jwa Type according to the metaphysical style. As the contemporary thinking requires more specific theoretical system, the study compared Feng-Shui location condition by Gyeonggi theory and energy field theory combined with specified scientific elements of Feng-Shui. As optimal Feng-Shui location, Seoul National Cemetery has problems that conditions of four gods and defense conditions are not identical, it must be acknowledged that it verified the fact of existence of blood vessel’s synchronized condensation based on energy field theory and there is blood inside Boguk. But as mentioned above, Chung-Ryong-Sa is relatively short than Baek-Ho-Sa that disabled blood field in left and right place that is emitted from bottom in a linear way based on inside water flow energy field theory. It has problem of overall energy field that is not formed in Hyeonmu and Dongjo energy field as a lack of Ansan, which is destine defect of this site. Such part must be overcome Bibo function as acquired element. If Seoul National Cemetery has a cultural value to preserve as cultural heritage and if spatial contents are formed, it may be a space to coexist national spirit and descendants.
