ABSTRACT

The world portrayed by Miu Kakiya's 70-year-old death bill, passed, released consecutively in 2012 and 2013, and Aki Hamanaka's Lost Care is riddled with contradictions stemming from a super-aged society. The eruption of such extreme viewpoints in Japanese culture highlights severe issues, including deformed demographic structures, income inequality, and generational along with class conflicts within Japan. The former eerily suggests that everyone should die at 70, leading us into a profound exploration of life's challenges through "inclusion," whereas the latter presents a consistent portrayal of a grim and provocative scenario where the methods of inclusion may in fact be "destructive."
