Therefore, supporting system shall be provided for victims to recover their ordinary life as fast as possible by observing and analyzing disaster victims’ life with continuous interests. So, the purpose of this study is to suggest the various alternatives for recovering the quality of life in Taean community that was devastated by Hebei Spirit oil spill disaster based on the grounded theory approach. Targeting the Taean residents, the victims of the Hebei Spirit oil spill which has come about on December 7, 2007, we have visited five disaster-sticken sites and conducted in-depth interviews with oil spill disaster victims about their quality of life using grounded theory approach.
