AB - Recently development of standardized design code is needed to enhance the international competitiveness according to demand of opening construction market by international treaty. Research on the limit state design method in the filed of structure foundation is in progress as follow the global trend. Analysis of probability statistics about the data base of literatures and reports of construction and design collected was performed to quantify the uncertainty about property of weathered soil ground in designing the shallow foundation. Appropriate ultimate bearing capacity was evaluated by comparing the existing methods of estimating this value and the nonlinear regression method and values of resistance bias factor and COV of weathered soil could be analyzed quantitatively through this process.
