ABSTRACT

This study analyzed education programs and texts of nuclear power for elementary, middle and high school students in Japan. The education providers are classified into 4 types: government, local government, school and non profit organization. The criteria of education programs and texts are fundamental concepts of radiation, knowledge of basic protection, and regional information on nuclear power in each area. As a result, local governments (Fukushima prefecture and Ibaraki prefecture) fulfill all kinds of criteria with its subdivisions while other providers has each strong and weak point. Thus expected education model of nuclear power in school can be improved by local government to integrate related education providers with significant local information also in Korea.
