ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine the equity factors that affect fire officers’ job satisfaction to improve the treatment of fire officers. According to the results of the analysis, perceived equity has an effect on fire officers’ job satisfaction. That is, distributive equity and internal equity have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, and in particular, distributive equity has the most positive effect on job satisfaction among other factors. According to previous studies, the perception of equity of fire officers is obtained in a stepwise process. After obtaining distributive equity, fire officers begin to perceive procedural equity and internal equity. Thus, distributive equity is the basic stage in developing equity in fire officers’ working environments. Hence, this study suggests the fostering of a fair workplace that directly relates to the fire officers’ distributive equity such as rewards, incentives, and job promotions so that they can develop personal careers.
