ABSTRACT

This study was conducted retrospectively to identify the main risk factors related to the reactions to disaster and symptoms of the subjects chosen by the psychological support group after the fire accident in Jecheon. Frequency analysis, t-test, Fisher’s exact test, and simple logistic regression were conducted using the collected data by SPSS 23.0. These analyses identified whether they belong to a high-risk group(B=1.814, p=<.013) and whether they have undergone any suicidal ideation(B=1.735, p=<.022) as significant influence factors. Therefore, at the early stage of disaster mental health support program, an evaluation about suicidal ideation as well as a mental health evaluation should be performed by the psychological support group.
