AB - This paper is the report concerning the "Environment for the Korean Civil Society". It was elaborated according to the second phase of CSI study(2008-2010), initiated and projected by the Third Sector Institute and CIVICUS. In this period, The political, social and economic environment for the Korean civil society has lost its autonomy and pluralism. We also observed the polarization of economic situations. The development of Korean civil society was restrained from these deteriorations of economic and social conditions. This study found that the Korean Society is bases on the sound environment for the development of civil society from the comparative view on the international level but there are so many issues for the development of human rights and economic justice on the national level.
