The global CIVICUS “Civil Society Index”(CSI) research for the 2008-2010 period deals with five dimensions of participation, organization, values, impacts and environment. Focused on the “impacts” dimension, this study analyzes the results of organization survey and stakeholder survey.
The indicators of CSI impacts are 1) social responsiveness, 2) social impacts,3) policy impacts, 4) citizen perception. The survey results reveal that both civil society managers and stakeholders agreed that the levels of responsiveness, social impact, poli impact are relatively lower that the middle level. The results indicate that the relatively low level of impacts (as measured by the four indicators) are closely related to its conflictive relationship with the government and the level of impacts can be restored by the improvement of its relation with the government.
