AB - Anarchy and Culture : For the Ethics of Affect Choi Jin Seok Keywords: Anarchy, the Ethical, the Moral, Affect, Modern Culture, Kropotkin, Deleuze. This paper is dedicated to the new possibilities of a ethical principle from an affective point of view. The famous Russian revolutionary, Peter Kropotkin’s concept of anarchy can help us explore the new ethical principle which is different from the traditional moral philosophy. The moral means some kind of the already defined norms to control our thought and behavior in everyday life. As french philosopher M. Foucault said, we cannot avoid these conventional norms without punishment in the society. But the Ethics, proposed by B. Spinoza, M. Foucault and G. Deleuze etc., do not have any kind of transcendent principle which regulates our thought and behavior beyond everyday life. We can make up some vivid principles of the affective ethics which always escape from the oppressive moral boundary in conservative society. That’s why we would call the new possibilities of the affective ethics “Anarchy.”
