ABSTRACT

There is a wide variety of discussions about the definition of happiness, attitudes and methods to pursue it. However, as the lecturer progressed through ‘creativity and communication’ subjects, many students are indeed very interested in happiness, but their understanding of the happiness is very simple and dichotomous. This simple and dichotomous view can be a hindrance to the sincere and realistic attitude of life. Therefore, presenting another viewpoint of happiness can be a another positive point that this subject can set. In this paper, first, I present the antinomic attitudes to hapiness of college students through case studies on ‘creativity and communication’. And as an alternative to this, I suggest the implication of the philosopher Kant’ concept of antinomy. Through analysis and understanding of this concept, we can come to understand human characteristics as emotional and rational beings. This can provide new perspectives to students' view of life and happiness.
