ABSTRACT

Creativity  is  not  an  abstract  substance  but  something  that  emerges  out of brain activities. With this assumption, this study attempted to  find  strategies  for  applying  the  existing  achievements  of  brain  science to creativity‐related liberal arts education. The  results  of  this  study  are  as  follows.  First,  in  order  to  develop  creativity, the learners should practice flexible thinking for building various  connecting  structures  of  the  brain.  Second,  the  teachers  need  to activate various domains of the brain by asking questions, presenting  specific  cases,  storytelling,  using  media,  etc.  in  their  lectures. Third, associating amygdaloid body with a specific concept for  fear  conditioning  is  the  biggest  obstacle  to  the  emergence  of  creativity. Accordingly, the teachers should induce the learners to participate  in  discussion  at  ease.  Lastly,  the  brain  and  brain  network are  the  basis  for  the  exercise  of  creativity,  and  essential  requirements  for the exercise of creativity are communication with literature, communication  among  individuals,  and  communication  among  groups.
