ABSTRACT

The skills to guarantee status and rights of human beings to enjoy as human beings in relationships are the most desperately needed ones for college students who are about to enter society. The era of the fourth industrial revolution is rather signaling a break in human relations. Active communication education that transcends alienation and exclusion is an alternative education that overcomes the breakage of human relations. Therefore, it is time to diagnose and design writing education as communication education at this point. The Korea Institute of Curriculum and Training classifies writing education as a basic education area for cultural education. However, almost all universities offer writing education without distinction between basic and liberal education. The same is true of Chosun University's writing education. Therefore, the writer observed that there should be separate discussion on ‘writing’ education as basic education, and accordingly, there will be a need to reform the writing materials. Chosun University's <Thinking and Expression 2> is a writing subject and it uses Writing textbooks as any other university. As the need for reform has been raised and the direction of writing is under discussion ahead of the reorganization, it is expected that the current generation of textbooks will be developed for communication, tailored to the areas of basic education for the youngs. The way the writing center operates for writing education also depends on the school's financial situation, and there should be a change to guarantee a sustainable operation for students. Also, there will be a need to develop the scientific assessment tools. This is why we diagnose and design writing education as world is now being driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution which is owned by future generation playing with SNS.
