AB - The goal of this study is to consider the direction of general education. to this end, this study analyzes the change of university students' reality perception in Lee Mun-yol, Park Min-kyu, Kim Ae-ran, Jang Gang-myeong's novel depicting university students. first, it examines the historical, social, and economic positions of university students, and defines them as being between the student and the social person.
In Lee Mun-yol's The Portrait of the Days of Youth(1981), the university student 'I' is depicted as cynical disillusion gaze at the gap between reality and ideal. This cynical disillusion was how 'I' overcomes the difference between reality of poverty and ideal of ivory tower. Park Min-kyu's Castella(2005) is an interesting depiction of how university students are fantastically solving real problems of the noise of a refrigerator. here, we can see the use of college students' knowledge changed in a practical attitude. in Kim Ae-ran's Flight cloud(2012), we can discover the reality recognition of university students who are fully embodied in material logic. in Jang Gang-myung's The Living(2019), university students are depicted as being incomprehensible.
The analysis so far has been an effort to understand the position and values of being a university student. through this, we need to consider the direction of general education.
