ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to examine to what extent an online public speaking course can be effective to reduce speech anxiety of college students. During the pandemic, the researcher converted the undergraduate course of public speaking into the online version utilizing various educational platforms, such as flipgrid, Canvas LMS, and Google Docs. Paired sample t-tests and qualitative analysis on reflection papers were conducted in order to investigate whether speech anxiety has changed due to the online public speaking course for which 80 college students registered. Discussion and suggestions for instructors of public speaking courses were presented.
