ABSTRACT

The core keywords of recent change are ‘liberal art’ and ‘competency’. This is the change in university education which was triggered by the change collectively called 4th industrial innovation. In particular, the rapid technology development has reduced the effectiveness period of knowledge and it also reflects the change of educational environment in which ‘utilization and learning of knowledge’ is emphasized from ‘knowledge delivery’, which had been the core of existing teaching method. The reactions from the educational site are largely carried out in two dimensions. First, the effort to improve teaching methods for strengthening teacher's competency. Second, setting the educational goal for strengthening student's competency and designing the curriculum that satisfies this goal. Therefore, the educational innovation center of Chosun University intends to prepare the improvement plan based on the indicated problem after consulting the curriculum of <thinking and express 1> and <thinking and express 2> in 2020 for the liberal education that can strengthen the competency. Therefore, we prepared the standard lecture plan to shift into the education which can uniformalize the class and strengthen the competency, and prepared the improvement plan which allows to figure out the achievement level of competency strengthening by developing the tool that diagnoses the competency. In particular, the pre/post evaluation tool is developed in order to judge whether the competency strengthening is actually achieved. However, the problem of improvement plan will be supplemented in the future because the standard lecture plan and the competency diagnose tools are not applied in the class yet.
