AB - As online services are expanded throughout whole society due to COVID-19, universities are also actively conducting online education. While online education has the advantage of being able to repeat learning, it is necessary to understand the effectiveness and learner satisfaction of online education because it is difficult to interact between professors and learners in online class. In particular, it is important to specifically identify the effectiveness and satisfaction of online accounting education because accounting classes have distinct characteristics from other subjects. Therefore, this study conducted an online survey on the effectiveness and satisfaction of online accounting education for students who had accounting classes as liberal arts at C University in Seoul.
Results of the survey are as follows; Liberal arts accounting learners responded that online classes were very effective and highly satisfied. This is attributed to the effective use of the advantages of online education that allows repetitive learning. In addition, it was found that the ability of the professor in online classes is important to achive academic goal and learners themselves need to make efforts not to miss the class schedules. Hence, if professors have sufficient capabilities and learners can properly use the advantages of online classes, operating online class would be very effective. Further, Q&A between professors and learners need to be more efficiently conducted to increase the effectiveness of online accounting education. The results of this study can contribute to check and improve the effectiveness and learner satisfaction of online class.
