ABSTRACT

This paper is a study of the cultivation of literary sensibility and creative writing through the dica-poem class. For this purpose, theories such as dica-poem background, concepts & meanings, and the process & method of writing dica-poem were examined. Furthermore, the process and results of the class were analyzed through the case of a mandatory writing liberal arts class at Dongguk University. As a result, it was confirmed that writing skills could improve literary sensitivity and the possibility of expanding into creative writing ultimately. Meanwhile, the know-how of dica-poem teaching and learning methods was discussed. Dica-poem is an area of image writing and is created through 4 steps: image explanation, interpretation, meaning-expansion and imagination. Some of the cases are discussed extensively based on the step by step process. This could be confirmed through the students works. Dica-poem is a complete text that combines image and text to interact, and is a genre of writing that best reflects the era. Nevertheless, it is not a common practice genre like essay or thesis writing in university writing. However, since writing is at the overlapping of two: consumers(readers) and producers(writers). In the digital age, dica-poem(writing) is expected to be widely used in writing classes in the future.
