ABSTRACT

This study aims to design and implement activity-based instructional materials for general education courses for international students by incorporating the components of Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC), and to analyze their classroom application. To this end, ICC components were examined within the context of such courses, and instructional activities utilizing course content were developed and applied. This study is significant in that it promotes learners’ active development of ICC-related competencies, moving beyond a teacher-centered approach to introducing Korean culture. It also presents a practical instructional case for fostering intercultural communicative competence. However, further research is needed to verify its effectiveness.
