ABSTRACT

This study examined modernist poetics based on the fact that the core of Kim Ki-rim's modernist poetics is the ‘technical theory’ of poetry, and that Kim Ki-rim has consistently written theories such as poetry and technology, art and technology, etc. until after liberation. The critical word ‘technology’ is a literary response to the changes in capitalist society that are becoming industrialized and mechanized. It refers to a modern, progressive method of modernist poetry. ‘Technology’ was a term conscious of the modern industrial system of the time, but on the other hand, it was a concept that encompassed humanity and the subject of creation at the point of contact with technē, a classical theory of art that emphasizes ‘humans.’ It was also different from ‘technique’. In conclusion, ‘the technical theory of poetry’ is a technical theory of modern art that moves toward ‘poetry as a whole’ of humans and technology, reflecting the artist’s spirit and human values, as emphasized in classical art philosophy and modern art, that is, ‘poetics of 'modern-technē’.
