A basic study of service delivery system building for the Filial Piety behavior encouragement and aid

Background: Nevertheless the law of Filial Piety behavior encouragement and aid was enacted long time ago, still concrete and relevant service delivery system was not built. A detailed service system was needed for effectiveness of the law. Purpose: The purpose of this study was as follows as a review of service delivery system building for Filial Piety behavior encouragement and aid: First, review the publicity of the service which was provided by the country and the local government to validate the service of the Filial Piety behavior encouragement and aid. Second, inspect the essential matters for the design to the delivery system and consider the items based on the law. And the last, contemplate the principles of integration for the building of service delivery system. Methodology/Approach: With this reason, to review the literature of public service delivery system including social welfare to the law. Findings/Conclusions: Results show that first, there is a need for the contents review on the service. Second, since the service have a publicity, so called ‘the information of the Filial Piety behavior encouragement and aid service’should be published as the information of Senior Welfare service in the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Third, as the dimensions for the building of delivery system was not identified in the law, there is a need for considerations of the dimensions from the first step by step. And the last, there is a need for the considerations of the items of design of the delivery system and weakness from the literature view. Further, the inspection of the principles of integration should be considered with new building of the service delivery system. Implications: Implications for this study is to inform the law to the public, to perceive the Filial Piety behavior by the encouragement and aid from the government and the local one, to contribute the inheritance of Korean traditional culture and obedience of ethical norms

A Narrative Inquiry into the Experiences of a Suicide Crisis Intervention Counselor: Becoming a Counselor Resembling Maternal Instinct

Background: South Korea continues to witness the rising trend of suicide and still keeps the dishonor of ranking No. 1 in the number of suicides among the member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD). As the suicide rates are increasing, counselors making an intervention in a crisis case at counseling sites are having huge psychological difficulties, as well. Objective: This study will examine the life stories of a professional that had a professional sense of vocation for interventions for the high crisis case of suicide and was active in the field, promoting an in-depth understanding of her experiences through a narrative inquiry into the process of overcoming indirect traumas and moving forward to growth. Methodology/Approach: A narrative inquiry, one of the qualitative methodologies, was carried out to understand the life experiences of a single research participant as a counselor making a suicide crisis intervention. A narrative inquiry is to understand human experiences, reorganizing the unique life of a research participant based on his stories deriving from his relations with the investigator and thus examining meanings in the organized stories. Results/Conclusion: First, the participant went through a process of finding the meanings of his life and his vocation in his life of pain as he made growth and consolidated his position as a counseling professional for suicide crisis interventions. And secondly, the participant always had his mother's warmth in the process of his vicarious traumas, post-traumatic growth, and search for the meanings of his life and his vocation, thus being able to discover a vocation of becoming a counselor conveying the stability of maternal instinct. His vocation of making more active crisis interventions was solidified as his mother's huge support and encouragement crossed with the pain of the mother of a suicide attempter. Implications: The study is meaningful in that it reveals the vulnerability of suicide crisis intervention counseling, enables to understand the growth of a counselor through competitive pain, and illuminates the necessity for total efforts to support and educate suicide crisis intervention counseling.

The positive and negative parenting attitudes of parents Depression and Depression in the Effects of Academic Helplessness Mediating effects of self-esteem

Background: Parents' parenting attitudes according to family structural changes affect adolescents' academic achievement, which is predicted to be important mediating factors such as depression and self-esteem. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between depression and self-esteem between parents' parenting attitudes and adolescents' academic work skills. Methodology/Approach: In this study, the SPSS 23.0 program and the Amos 23.0 program were used to verify the suitability of the research model, and the suitability indices of the X2, GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, TLI, RMSEA, and RMR values were used to verify the suitability of the model. In addition, significance was verified through the Bootstrapping procedure to verify the mediating effect. Findings/Conclusions: As a result of the research model, first, as a result of path analysis, it was found that positive parenting had a negative (-) effect on academic work skills and depression and a positive (+) effect on self-esteem. Parents' negative parenting attitudes had a positive (+) effect on academic work skills, depression, and self-esteem, and self-esteem had a positive (+) effect on depression, but self-esteem did not affect academic work skills. Second, in the mediating effect verification, the positive parenting attitude of parents partially mediated the academic work ability, and self-esteem and depression were found to be double mediated. Third, in the comparison of indirect effects, the indirect effect was found to be significant for the partial mediating effect of depression between academic work skills in the positive and negative parenting attitude of parents, and the indirect effect was also significant in the double mediating effect of self-esteem and depression. Implications: In order not to give adolescents a school work experience, they set new goals with their parents, who are the main caregivers, and suggested ways to achieve a smooth life by improving their learning motivation.

A study on Korean HYO culture for Korean language education -Focused on <The Story of Simcheong-jeon>-

Background: Learning a language is like learning a culture. Since ancient times, Korea has considered ‘HYO’ more important than anything else. Since Korean filial piety contains universality of mankind, its value is unique. When understanding and altruistic consideration for others and other societies are desperately needed, it seems natural to find the orientation of ‘HYO’, a sense of ethics that humanity must protect until the end. Therefore, from the point of view of Korean language education, Korean HYO is highly valued as a culture that can be taught to mankind with various backgrounds. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the modern value of filial piety culture in Korean language education by utilizing <Simcheong-jeon>, a representative classic novel that best expresses Korean filial piety sentiment. Methodology/Approach: First, by reviewing previous studies of <Shimcheong-jeon>, the common thematic consciousness is analyzed. Second, in the interpretation of HYO in Korea, traditional and modern interpretations are made, and the meaning of ‘HYO’ is reinterpreted from a modern point of view. Third, analyze the contents of <Simcheong-jeon> and review the contents of ‘HYO’ culture with Korean language education in mind from a modern point of view. Findings/Conclusions: The meaning of modern HYO can be interpreted as HYO in which mutual respect acts as a basic principle, HYO in which love for others is premised, and HYO in consideration and service based on understanding of differences and a sense of equality. In <Simcheong-jeon>, as Simcheong's HYO becomes the center, it includes the father's trust and faith in his daughter and Shimcheong's trust and faith in her parents. In addition, it was possible to find the HYO of the spirit of consideration and service through the understanding and love of the neighbors for Simcheong's. finally, the practical attitude of the emperor, who is in the highest position. Implications: If Korea's HYO culture is approached as a universal human value in terms of Korean language education by using <Shimcheong-jeon>, which has been reinterpreted as modern HYO, Korean HYO can be sublimated into a human culture. As an effort for that possibility, this study has significance.
