AB - In this article I attempted to define the comparative philosophy as activities to discover a difference of two or three philosophies. And I also emphasized that through actively doing philosophy of the difference the comparative philosophy should be a meaningfully methodological way escaping from the limits of a given locality or time, and clarified that it must be functional as a method constituting a comparative discourse.
In this context, I first pointed out that the various arguments of the comparative philosophy only has been focused on finding a sameness or similarity rather than difference itself. Then I criticized a problem in which our common practice of finding a sameness from the different philosophies has been falling in making harmony of east and west philosophy.
As regards the comparative method of the east and west philosophy a consideration, that is, whether intuition or reason arguments for east and west philosophies, would be problematic. In our country the atmosphere of the studies of comparative philosophy did not satisfy for a long time appropriate conditions for the sound way of comparison; not criticizing the difference of them but depending upon a conventional way of a given matter of course. And pointing out that there were not enough for various and delicate discourses for the comparative philosophy to us, I emphasized many ways of comparison again.
In result, comparison of the comparative philosophy must be a work to find the inner relation of them. For the good comparison, I think, a difference would be disclosed from the philosophies. Concerning the limits of coluturalism a standpoint of a philosophy should be open again to find a universal context, namely, the original right of doing philosophy.
