ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to discuss the issue of a good death based on Kant's thoughts and attitudes about life and death. In our time, the question of a good death has become as important an issue as a good life. Based on Kant's thoughts, we sketch the issues of suicide and euthanasia. Based on this, we discuss the issues of passive and active possibilities of well-dying. Kant strived for a good life throughout his life as a human being and as a philosopher. He also wanted to have an easy, comfortable, and dignified death. He is said to have been very proud of being able to live freely and actively throughout his life.
