ABSTRACT

Today, we live in the age of AI, an age of massive amounts of information and change at unimaginable speeds. These are confusing times and the future is unpredictable. In such a complex situation, we can try to go back to the ‘basics’ of education. This paper argues that Nietzsche, who as an educator experienced and deeply reflected on real-world education, can provide help with such basics, namely Reading Classics. Furthermore, this paper argues that if we cannot ignore the early Nietzsche concept of Genius as the starting point of the later Nietzsche concept of Superman, then elevation through Reading Classics is a possibility for everyone in their lives. In detail, Nietzsche explains the Genius's way of thinking, reading method, and native language classes in his book, On the Future of Our Educational Institutions. He emphasizes that this is the basis for ‘Reading Classics’ and that we should move forward to having each person read the classics based on this basis. This is the way for individual humans to become independent and reach the heights so that they can respond to the chaotic AI era, and therefore Nietzsche’s educational methodology should be reconsidered as a New Educational Methodology
