AB - A Study on the Jong Si (終始) of the young chu(靈樞), one of the classic book of oriental medicine, was carried out analytically for the right comment. Jong Si (終始) means the end & the origin. 12 kyung-mack (12經脈) let the energy -socalled ki (氣) & the blood circulate whole the body endllessly and each kyung-mack has each definite route. The blood circulate along the vessel but the ki(氣) circulate along the 12 kyung-mack (12經脈). The circulation of ki is come to one after another. First begins the kyung-mack of the lung(手太陰肺經) and last ends the kyung-mack of the liver(足厥陰肝經). Because handling about the kyung-mack and it's end & origin in this essay, the word, meaning 'the end & the origin' is likely to become the theme. The concent of this essay can be divided to 6 part. The 1st part, chapter I, described the importance of the end & the origin. The 2nd part, chapter Ⅱ, described the excessiveness & decay(盛衰) of the yuem yang(陰陽) and it's treatment. The 3rd part, chapter Ⅲ, described what the doctor have to do when adding or diminishing of the energy - socalled ki(氣) by doing acupuncture, and it's effect. The 4th part, chapter IV, described how the doctor do acupuncture each syndrome. The 5th part, chapter V, described the prohibitions when being treated by acupuncture The last 6th part, chapter Ⅵ, described the syndromes when each kyung-mack(經脈) down fall and out to end. The young chu(靈樞) includes so many concents about acupuncture. These concents are differ from those of nowadays. According to the young chu(靈樞) curing people by acupuncture depends on the state of mack(脈). but the general concept of that days about mack(脈) is not what we generally recognize. The mack(脈) of that days means 12 kyung-mack(12經脈). but, when the doctors examine the patient they usually use radial artery at the wrist in nowadays. These concents of the young chu(靈樞) can be considered to late for this age. But These concents contributed to todays' consultation of mack(脈). And we do not have to overlook such point. So it is important to know it's exact meaning. But Jong Si(終始) of the young chu(靈樞) is too difficult to interpret since is written in old chinese and abbreviatied, the writer of this paper has researched to prove the exact meaning of it.
