ABSTRACT

A study on the Kyoung Su(經水) of the Young Chu(靈樞), one of the classic book of oriental medicine, was carried out analytically for the right comments. The Kyoung Su(經水) is in chapter 12, volumn 3 of the Young Chu(靈樞). This chapter mainly describes the relation of the 12 Meridian(十二經脈) and the 12 Kyoung Su(十二經水) that the rivers were located in China at that time, so it is named 'Kyoung Su'(經水). Summerizing the contents of the Kyoung Su(經水) in reference to the contents of successive generation note, the contents were as follows; What attracts our attention in chapter Ⅰ is that there is the standard value of five viscera and six bowels(五臟六府), Meridian(經脈) and Qi-Hyul(氣血), so a doctor has to do the therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion(鍼灸治療) according to it. What attracts our attention in chapter Ⅱ is that the 12 Meridian(十二經脈) is connected to the internal five viscera and six bowels(五臟六府) and corresponds to the external 12 Kyoung Su(十二經水), and each the 12 Kyoung Su(十二經水) has the difference of Yin-Yang(陰陽). What attracts our attention in chapter Ⅲ is that the therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion(鍼灸治療) has the proper numerical value according to each the 12 Meridian(十二經脈), and if we violate it, that will cause harmful effects. What attracts our attention in chapter Ⅳ is the meaning of stnadard value and that this stnadard value is not absolute, so it has to be properly changed considering the age, height, weight, and strength of patient.
