AB - Student records are essential for the functional, social, and personal aspects of the university. However, it is difficult to systematically manage such records because of the vast amount produced by several agents, the decentralization of the university’s records management system, and various types and forms produced. Despite acknowledging the importance of student records, Myongji University implements its records management system at a sluggish pace. This study defined students’ records except for the administrative records of the university as “student-related records” and categorized them into education records, student creation and research records, and student activity records. After examining the best practices in Korea and abroad, we reviewed the current status of Myongji University’s student records management system and proposed appropriate and comprehensive management plans accordingly.
