ABSTRACT

This paper presents an exploratory study on narrative interaction with digital artifacts by integrating ultra-high-precision 3D data with LLM-based conversational personas. The system transforms static digital records into interactive entities through fine-tuned narrative datasets reflecting the artifacts’ historical context and identity. In an exhibition setting, 104 interaction logs, including 52 user utterances, were analyzed. The results show informational, concept-testing, situational, and relational utterances, suggesting that some visitors approached digital artifacts not only as information sources but also as conversational and relational entities. Rather than generalizing the system’s effects, these findings provide exploratory evidence that conversational AI combined with ultra-high-precision 3D data can support narrative interaction between visitors and digital cultural artifacts.
