AB - 대담 인터뷰에 있어서의 「칭찬」의 고찰
- 대상, 시점, 대답스타일을 중심으로 -
본고는 상업잡지의 대담 인터뷰에 나타나는 칭찬 의 대상, 위치, 대답스타일의 관점에서 분석한 것이다..
상업잡지의 대담 인터뷰는 게스트의 내면에 관한 정보를 독자에게 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 인터뷰어는 게스트의 체면침해도를 최소한으로 하여 그들로 하여금 기분좋게 하기위한 Politeness전략으로 칭찬을 활용한다.
분석한 결과 다음과 같은 것을 발견할 수 있었다.
우선 칭찬의 대상을 1)외모 2)성격 3)직업상의 재능 4)직업의외의 재능 5)소유물 6)가족 7)수행업적 8)사생활 9)주변인물 물건으로 나누어 고찰했다.
그 결과 수행업적이나 직업상의 재능이 칭찬의 대상으로 많이 사용 되고 있었다. 누구나 보면 판단할 수 있는 외모에 대한 것도 많이 대상이 되었다. 성격과, 사생활은 체면 침해의 가능성이 높으므로 칭찬의 대상으로 사용되지 않는 경향이 많다는 것을 발견할 수 있었다.
다음으로 칭찬의 시점을 살펴본 결과 인터뷰 개시 시점에서 많이 이루어 짐을 알 수 있었다.
칭찬 에 대한 대답 스타일은 긍정의 반응이 50%이상을 차지한다. 이것은 부정을 하면 칭찬하는 사람의 체면을 침해하는 것을 피하려고 하는 의식에서 온 것이라고 추측된다.
또 적극적으로 칭찬을 받아들이고 스스로를 어필하는 대답은 많지 않다는 것도 밝혀졌다.
