AB - 本稿は韓国人学習者が「死刑制度の賛否」というテーマで書いた意見文の構造的特徴を明らかにすることを目的とした。本稿では意見文の中心となる「主張」が現れる位置によって構造を類型化し、論旨展開、主張の現れ方と構造との関連について考察を行った。その結果、文章構造は頭尾型が全体の29.5％、中尾型が22.7％で、この両者で約半数を占めた。中尾型は実質的に頭尾型に近い型が5例存在し、これらを含めると全体の4割が頭尾型の構造であった。論旨展開は「(背景的情報)→主張1→理由·根拠→主張1もしくは主張2」が多く、死刑について条件付き賛成(もしくは反対)という立場で書かれた意見文は頭中型を取る傾向が示唆された。主張の現れ方と構造は賛否(主張1)のみを述べる意見文は各種の型が用いられつつも頭尾型になりやすい傾向があり、死刑制度に対する要望や提案などの発展的意見(主張2)のみを述べる意見文は尾型になる傾向がある。ただし、後者の意見文そのものは多くない。そして、賛否と発展的意見をともに述べる意見文は必ず「主張1→主張2」の順で現れ、頭尾型になりやすい傾向があることが分かった。市販の文章作成に関する教科書では頭尾型を推奨することが多いが、一律的に頭尾型の意見文を書けるように指導するのではなく、自分の主張を読み手に分かりやすく伝えるためには、どのような構造が良いかを意識化させる指導が重要である。
