ABSTRACT

This paper investigated each other's recognition of Korea-Japan relationship of Japanese learner, K and Korean learner, J, and compared with Kim(2016) through an interview research, and investigated changes in the recognition of K and J and the factors. As a result, K's negative view of historical relations 1) was not changed like Kim(2016), but was more powerful through his personal experiences, etc. 3) His positive view of the future was not changed like Kim(2016), and hoped for a positive relationship under the condition that Korea has nothing to lose. In this paper, K's recognition of the present 2) newly considered was negative just as 1) historical relations. In the background of this recognition, there was the influence of K's personal experiences and negative information around him. About it, J's neutral and comprehensive attitude toward 1)historical relations and 2)the present relations was not changed but was more powerful like those of Kim(2016) 3). It could be seen that J continued hoping for 3) a positive relationship towards the future relation like K. It can be presented that these recognition factors caused a significant influence of the civic organizations and the people in Korea and Japan related to J and his way and attitude of having had a view of life to contribute to cultural exchanges and world peace due to this influence. This paper, based on the above investigation, presented a necessary point for building a developmental Korean-Japan relationship, which means, by finding significant values in common for Korea and Japan to pursue together, to realize them.
