ABSTRACT

This study analyzes 119 Japanese vocabulary-related papers published in Korean academic journals between 2023 and 2024 to examine current trends in vocabulary research. The most active area was semantics and usage, focusing on collocations, emotional expressions, and cognitive meaning. Other studies addressed word formation, lexical classification, and corpus-based analysis using textbooks, dictionaries, and media texts. Diachronic research explored historical changes in vocabulary, while contrastive studies focused on differences and similarities between Japanese and Korean. Vocabulary education, translation-related topics, emerging interest in media, and applied domains also appeared. The findings indicate that Japanese vocabulary research is steadily expanding through empirical and interdisciplinary approaches.
