AB - In this study, we review the tasks of Biblical counseling in Korean Church from the viewpoint of biblical counseling. To this end, we first reviewed evangelical theology, which states that we shall witness the truth of being justified by faith, which means we are saved only by faith. The core of this faith is that Jesus Christ is God, and the belief of his suffering, death, resurrection, lifting to the heaven and the second coming. We conclude that we should follow the biblical view of humanity in order to provide better Biblical counseling. We also reviewed the history of Biblical counseling in relation to the history of the Korean church. The tasks of Biblical counseling in Korea are: 1) to establish the theology of Biblical counseling; 2) to determine the tasks to be carried out by the Korean church; 3) to determine what tasks are necessary to restore human dignity; 4) to determine and carry out the tasks necessary to restore family health; 5) to determine and carry out the tasks necessary to achieve holistic health; 6) to determine and carry out the tasks necessary for addiction treatment; and 7) to determine and carry out the tasks necessary for spiritual development. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing healthy churches and a healthier society by spreading the Biblical counseling movement led by the Korean Evangelical Counseling Society.
