ABSTRACT

Purpose : This study was designed to examine the effects of the Gratitude Enhancement Program on gratitude disposition, happiness and life adjustment of cadets at Armed Forces Nursing Academy(AFNA). Methods : This was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pre-post design. The participants are assigned to two groups from the 1st grade cadets of AFNA. For experimental group, total 8 sessions of a Gratitude Enhancement Program were applied for 4 weeks, while the control group was provided petit-Gratitude Enhancement Program after the data collection period. The data were analyzed using t-test and ANCOVA to examine the effects of Gratitude Enhancement Program. Results : The experimental group had significantly higher scores than the control group on gratitude disposition, happiness and life adjustment of cadets. Conclusion : According to the results, a Gratitude Enhancement Program is shown to very effectiveness in improving on gratitude disposition, happiness and life adjustment of cadets at AFNA. In addition, the key findings of this study will offer variable information on the development of discipline program.
