ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the operation trend of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), developed by Emergency Nurses Association and run by Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy in Korea since year 2010. Methods: This study analyzed class time and general characteristics of participants on TNCC-provider, instructor, and provider renewal opened in Korea. Results: Until 2019, a total of 40 provider courses, 10 instructor courses, and 3 provider renewal courses were held. The provider course was held three to five times a year, with a total of 719 attendees, 55.4% of military nurses and 44.6% of civil nurses. The instructor course was held once a year, and there were a total of 37 attendees. The provider renewal process was held three times so far, and 28 nurses completed the course. Conclusion: It was not possible to analyze the trend in educational content changes due to copyright issues. This study is meaningful in analyzing operational trends of TNCC in Korea for the first time. The processed data would contribute to improving the future TNCC, and provide implications for development direction of trauma nursing education in Korea.
