ABSTRACT

Analysis for TV drama that dramatizes literary works should not concentrate on only ‘an aspect change which is made for drama’. It needs the interest about how the image language itself was made. This writing is looked into the narrative construction of image language in the center of HD-TV Feature Drama A dwarf launches a small ball. The narrative construction of the image language has two dimension of ‘visualization’ and ‘image making’. The image language construction which is shown in the drama A dwarf launches a small ball is calculated precisely to form a narrative drama. The contents are following. First, the setting as a formal element gives the drama a real massiveness with properties. And it is an important factor which is shown the characters' spiritual, psychological situation and conflict. Second, the effect of short and angle as a technological element reinforces or limits a special scene. And it contributes showing a special meaning when it is united the setting. Also, it shows the character's psychological, emotional situation. It shows their social relationships between themselves. The elements such as lighting, color, and sound carry out similar function. Third, the elements like screen arrangement and montage for the image making carry out regular narrative forming function. This is functioning as a devices to reinforce the truth of the image and the narrative probability. Especially in the montages, it can be confirmed the sound which is different from the original by adding the message of peace and reconciliation to the original description.
