AB - The traveling theatre was core businesse of theatrical mobilization in wartime. Colonial authority used traveling theatre as the instrument of propaganda by presenting sound entertainment and enlightenment. Traveling theatre platoon 1 and Hyundai-gukjang's patriotic troupe were representative traveling theatre in this time, they played an active part as a model of national theatre. Traveling theatre platoon 1 was made up Joseon theatrical association's directly agency at 1941. In 1942 they digested superhuman performances schedule, but after this, their activity has declined by degrees. Hyundai-gukjang's patriotic troupe were formed in cooperation with Gukminchongryeocjoseonyeonmeng at 1941. Although ambitious conception, their activity didn't hold on, the result was poor. This two troupe had no regret for theatrical quality, and objectified the spectator with prejudice. For example Deachunamu and Heungbujeon, their repertory were inappropriate and low quality. As a result their ambitious conception fell through, their play ended in vulgar propaganda drama.
