A Study on the Change of Song Young's Recognizing the Reality After the KAPF Dispersal -Focus on History Material Dramas During the Japanese Colonial Period-

ABSTRACT

Song Young wrote some history material dramas during the Japanese colonial period. Authors use history material normally when they can not write reality of the time directly. In this respect, this paper searches for changing process of Song Young by analyzing Song Young's three history material dramas, Kim-sat-gat(1938), Bang-nang-si-in Kim-sat-gat(1941), and Sin-sa-im-dang(1945). Three dramas tell that dramas' characters want to enter the government service in the Joseon Dynasty. Kim-sat-gat and Bang-nang-si-in Kim-sat-gat show the social problem in a conflict between an individual and the Joseon society. However, Sin-sa-im-dang displays to enter the government service as focusing on solve the individual problem. Furthermore, three dramas have different problem solving ways. Kim-sat-gat emphasizes people's combined force, Bang-nang-si-in Kim-sat-gat shows an escape from the reality, and Sin-sa-im-dang tells a changing individual according to the model character. In a view of three dramas' differences and transitions, Song Young varied from the writer who wanted to changing with people's combined force to the writer who agonized over himself when the National play began, and changed again to the writer who succeeded to write dramas of the National play.
