Recently, the trend of producing competitively historical drama about the stories of Goguryeo has stood out as a characterized cultural phenomenon in Korean society. Such a phenomenon has been construed as nationalism of the cultural world in response to China's Northeast Project. However, except its marketing aspect, it is difficult to interpret the drama from the perspective of nationalism. This drama has taken strategy to minimize and call out just the widespread recognition and core image about King Gwanggaeto and the history of Goguryea, even though its background of drama is Goguryea. Of course, when dealing with the past story, it will be a matter of course to maximize imagination in order to fill the gaps of poor historical records. And, considering 'Fantasy Historical Drama' the realistic reproduction of the past is not the purpose this drama at first. Nevertheless, this drama makes an impression to minimize or eliminate the historical probability and the issues of reality from the planning stage on purpose. In the drama, history was replaced with myth. It also adopted the religion of four gods in Chung Yuan, and recreated the gods into interesting characters. It also embodied the antagonists representing generalized evil forces rather than portraying them based on historical facts, and actual achievements of King Gwanggaeto were treated differently from the results of the fierce battles that were shown on the drama. The drama created a new fantasy world based on fertile imagination, which makes it different from the previous historical dramas that were not entirely free from the limitations in terms of written history and realistic description of the history. Beginning with the <Taewangsasingi>, the dramas in the late 2000 became bold in using history and active in adopting fantasy.
