ABSTRACT

This research examines tendency of how the dramas are included on Chosun-Eomun which is Korean textbook of Chosun-jok and its learning activity. The purpose of the research is investigating how the drama is learned in Korean education of Chosun-jok. The revised edition of Chosun-Eomun in 2007 is analyzed in the research, and textbooks of every grade are aimed. The analysis can be divided into two ways. The first one describes a character of Chosun-Eomun and types of the dramas on the book, and the next one actual situation in the text book and learning activities of the textbook. Chosun-Eomun, unitary textbook of the national education has been changed as the information-oriented age has arrived in 21st Century. Especially, It is interesting that revised edition of Chosun-Eomun in 2007 refers to ‘The Standard of Literary Education of Chosun’ and 7th Curriculum Period of Korea. The dramas is divided into national play, foreign play, and Chinese play. National play is composed of plays, broadcast plays, musicals, operas. In the case of plays in textbook, it can be seen that several chapters borrow scripts and questions from textbooks of Korea. This is because they followed Korean education curriculum of Korea. Musical plays such as broadcast plays, musicals, operas are major works which are written by Chosun-jok or in South Korea and North Korea. The number of these plays is only one of each genre. British and American dramas account for most of foreign plays, and they occupy the highest proportion of the whole of scripts. It is distinguishing feature that most of foreign plays are included in selective curriculum.
