AB - 『텔레비전 드라마, 역사를 전유하다』라는 연구서에서 우선적으로 눈에 띄는 가능성은 텔레비전 드라마 연구에 있어 ‘텔레비전’과 ‘드라마’가 아닌 ‘역사’라는 인문학적 테마가 등장함으로써 텔레비전 드라마 연구가 텔레비전 드라마임을 확인하는 재귀의 폐쇄회로로부터 비로소 벗어나고 있다는 점이다. 두 번째 가능성은 역사 드라마에 대한 범주화가 시도되고 있다는 점인데, 이와 같은 범주화의 시도는 개별 텍스트를 바라보는 연구자 개인의 미시적 시각을 넘어선 역사 드라마라는 장르를 아우르는 거시적 시각에 대한 새로운 제안으로서 주의 깊게 읽어낼 필요가 있다. 세 번째 가능성은 이 책이 나름의 풍요로운 학술적 성과와 함께 텔레비전 드라마 연구의 그 어떤 한계를 노출시킴으로써 그 한계를 극복하기 위한 새로운 고민을 적극적으로 촉발시킨다는 점이다. 번번이 텔레비전 드라마 텍스트로부터 출발하여 텔레비전 드라마 장르론으로 재귀하는 선언의 수사학이 아니라 보편의 언어를 통해 보다 광범위하게 발화될 수 있는 텔레비전 드라마 연구가 이루어지기를 기대해본다.
