ABSTRACT

Television drama <Borgmom> and <Roboti Aniya>(It’s Not a Robot) are based on the myth in which Pygmalion falls in love with a ideal woman who he created. Revealing their sexuality, female robots in the dramas are illustrated as a perfect mother or a lovely girl friend reinforced stereotypes and femininity. Basically women robots can be read as temptation of technology and incomprehensibility which are double threat for man centered society. However, female robots in the dramas are created as a controllable and dependent character and are granted “otherness” who people hardly can sympathized with. The man who created the female robots always take care of them and become leading roles, assuring patriarchal rules. Even though their fixed positions between a creator(man) and a creature(woman) are problematic, people's fear and horror of technology and uncertain future are reflected on their relationship. In the end of the dramas, finally female robots are united with men therefore doubt and fear for woman and technology are gone which means patriarchal rules are firmly rebuilt and nothing can be changed.
