AB - Myth is a message that arises from communication between God and man through a ritual. In shamanistic mythology changes in the context of transmission affect the character and function of the myth. This means that the form and message of myths change according to the context of the times. This study examines the Jeju Island shamanistic myth, , from the perspective of ritual to play and from myth to drama.
There is no particular dramatic conflict in the narrative of . However, the myth was adapted into a drama genre, theatre play and animation. The difference in the receptive layer creates differences of adaptation. The animation was adapted into more direct and simple events for the children audience to understand the dramatic conflict. In addition, the characters in the characters were built with a sense of familiarity, sympathy, and cheekiness that was easy for the audience to understand. It also reflects educational effects while emphasizing good and bad and altruistic minds.
On the other hand, the play targets adults above adolescents. The main motif is the social problems and internal conflicts experienced by individuals, and it has expanded into conflicts between characters. The animation space stimulates the fairy tale and mythological imagination. The play functioned to reflect on the present life through a clear distinction between the real space and the mythological space.
Myths can give answers to problems that science has not solved. is interacting with the context of the situation of our times and reviving in various forms, presenting new answers to us.
