AB - This paper tried to emphasize that the unique self-reflection and ordinariness inherent in television dramas are the result of viewers' activism and the strategic interaction of producers that presuppose it. Viewers understand dramatic fiction as a metaphorical Image Scheme, replacing television dramas with narratives related to their lives. In that sense, it is worth paying attention to the Stove League, which has a paradoxical slogan, "This is not a baseball story." Stove League depicts the struggle of those who try to maintain value-oriented rationality against the violence of the world that forces instrumental rationality through the story of running a baseball team. What is important that Stove League embodies not only the heroic performance of the protagonist, Baek Seung-soo, but also the value of mutual recognition and solidarity. Unlike other sports dramas, Stove League, which dealt with the professional subject of team management, was able to draw sympathy from people who are not familiar with baseball thanks to this metaphorical structure. In addition, this paper attempted to pay attention to Barthes's concept of Punctum that provides a passage for subplots with relative independence to access the various desires of viewers while creating a counterpoint to the main plot. On the other hand, Stove League was a work that showed a clear perception of the psychological affinity between viewers and characters. Baek Seung-soo looks straight ahead at the last line and takes a way of speaking directly to viewers who have been watching his life so far. Furthermore, Viewers of Stove League protested against SBS's policy through the homepage for Viewers, confirming that the broadcaster's policy was identified with the violence of the Jaesong Group in Stove League.
