ABSTRACT

After the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, Japan re-examines the strategies for the 4th industrial revolution and artificial intelligence-based society. The background of this implies the necessity to develop the artificial intelligence technology, and also the policy-level interest in the solution of various social problems such as aging. This also shows the government’s will to seek for the measures for reducing the gap between development speed of artificial intelligence technology and establishment of the foundation preparing for artificial intelligence society. Based on the awareness of such problems, this study systematically analyzes the contents and strategies of artificial intelligence shown in the artificial intelligence guidelines and social principles of human-centric AI in Japan.
