ABSTRACT

There is Byunsangwha(Buddhist's preaching paint) on each volume in a set of 7 volumes of Saddharmapundarika sutra of Koryo script. Though lacked volumes(from one to three volumes) were found in some sets, because of their certain manufactured era they are very important for the study of a chronicle of Koryo script. Until now 8 sets of them are known to be manufactured after king Chungsuk. In this study the contents of 4 sets of script in Japan which are very difficult to see were studied. By the results of the analysis of 4 sets of script it is possible to find out that though the contents of left side of painting were different little by little according to each manufacture a era, it would be basically contained in the formality of the painting of Buddhist sermon, but though the contents of right side of painting were drawn very complicatedly, it can be known that in the contents of each chapter in every volume, a fable content that can explain most clearly the teaching of Saddharmapudarika-sutra was selected and drawn as a paint of explaining fable.Furthermore, it is possible to know that even smallest part of painting becomes a instructively and easily explainable scene for how difficult and valuable is the preaching widely the Saddharmapundarika-sutra
