ABSTRACT

The present article focuses on the differences between Sonwon-kyebo-kiryak Sukjong’s 26th year edition and Sukjong’s 28th year edition and the publishing process of Sukjong’s 28th year edition. This edition is what Sukjong’s 26th year edition was revised. These two editions have 190 leaves each. Speaking of the engraving, 68 sides of them were shared, 74 sides were revised, 48 sides were newly engraved among 190 sides of wood blocks.Shortly after the publication of Sukjong’s 26th year edition, Hyeongjo-Panseo Jin-Ku Kim(刑曹判書 金鎭龜) pointed out some errors on that and then it took about 22 months to complete this edition. It was published without establishing Kyojeongcheong(校正廳). The revision proceeded as follows: making procedure how to gather genealogical records, setting up rules and regulations on genealogical record description, making the first transcription, making the second transcription, making the final transcription to be attached on wood blocks, engraving, printing, binding and decorating books, dedicating and viewing of completed books to the King and its ceremony, and the ceremony of finishing work. In these processes, sporadic revisions were made in its publication.
