AB - This paper is a study of the Annotation of Four Books (四書諺解) with colophons and same patterns of publication published in 1637. They were published in the middle of 17th century when socially and politically big changes like Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 (壬辰倭亂), Manchu war of 1636(丙子胡亂) and Incho restoration(仁祖反正) happened with consideration for economics due to reflection of the phases of the times. They showed unique forms and intentions of printing different from existing another editions for sell to be known. Especially they had characteristic of private publication so new approach on bookstores can be had.So tried to analyze existing prints, printing areas, contents and forms of the Annotation of Four Books (四書諺解) published in 1637 and investigate publishing and cultural meaning of them in the publication of the Annotation of Four Books (四書諺解) in the 17th century.
